A Premium Intensive Workshop
by Dan Rose
Participants of this hands-on intensive will learn basic skills, tips,
tricks and techniques to dramatically improve their photography. This
workshop is suitable for those with Point-and-Shoot or Digital SLR
cameras. Students will gain an understanding – “a
demystification of photography basics” and leave with the enthusiasm
and confidence to fly solo behind the lens!
Participants will learn:
~ Proper shooting
technique
~ Shutter speed - motion, moving subjects, tripod use
~ Aperture – f-stops, depth of field
~ Understanding correct exposure
~ Focal length ~ Flash photography
~ Elements of design
~ Composition
~ Presenting and printing photos
~ Afternoon shooting and critique session
~ Every Participant
will take home their own Fine Art

Shooting and Critique Session
The afternoon shooting and critique session will enhance the
participants’ ability to “see photographically,” and the review of the
students projected images will allow all participants to learn from each
other, as well as Mr. Rose. This learning experience will provide
a foundation for the participants’ further pursuit and enjoyment of the
art of photography.
Participant Requirements
1) Participants must bring their love for photography, their camera,
instruction manual, charged batteries and tripod (if they own one).
Participants with brand new cameras must read their camera instructions
and complete Participant Requirement number 2.
2) All attendees need to bring an image taken with their camera.
This can be their best image or a problem image. The image must be
stored on a memory card or USB drive in jpg. format.
These images are essential to
our learning experience.
The creator of the images may remain anonymous if they wish.
Greater than 98% of the participants who at have taken this workshop
have rated it excellent!

A Free One Hour Workshop
“How to Take Better Pictures”
your
camera in everyday types of photography.
Participants will learn to properly hold and operate their cameras basic functions.
Also included are solutions to common challenges beginners
face when photographing friends and family.
This workshop is usually held on the 1st and 3rd
Tuesday Evening at 5:15pm.

Dan has been a working professional photographer for over thirty years.
The focus of Dan’s fine art work is urban and rural architecture and
landscape photography. The body of work exhibits a variety of panoramic,
spherical and black and white images. He incorporates the use of
conventional, rotational and swing lens panoramic film cameras, medium
and large format film cameras, as well as digital capture methods.
Dan has held workshops, as well as exhibited in Cologne, Germany,
Atlanta, Kansas City, Phoenix, Austin, Dallas,
Springfield MA, New Orleans,
San Diego, Albuquerque,
Overland Park, KS.
Dan is a published author and speaker, both nationally and
internationally, on a variety of business & photography topics
including: business ownership, professional sales, owning and operating
a profitable business, forensic photography, fine art photography,
creative photography, Photoshop, the business of photography, panoramic
photography and virtual reality.
Dan's passion for photography has helped him to work well with photo
enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. Dan provides a variety of
photography workshops and photography lectures. He has
chaired photography contests, and has been a photography club leader and
mentor for adults and students K-12. . More information can be found

Dan’s honored
to have been the only photographer appointed to the Kansas Arts on Tour
Roster underwritten by the State of Kansas and the National Endowment of
the Arts.
Dan’s the owner of Suprachrome,
a company which provides "Exact Match" Fine Art quality ink to
the discerning hobbyist and professional photographer. All of Dan’s fine
art photographs are printed on Suprachrome Media with archival pigment
ink. Dan divides his business hours between the company offices in
Kansas City and Chicago.
